Community Guidelines
OpenWriting Coach is a place to learn English by writing about real life, together. These guidelines keep it safe and welcoming for learners all over the world. Follow them whenever you post something public.
The red lines
- Write your own words. Share your own writing and ideas. Do not copy other people's work or post content that breaks copyright.
- Nothing illegal. Do not post anything that breaks the law or encourages others to.
- No hate or harassment. No attacks on people for who they are. No bullying, threats, or targeting anyone.
- Zero tolerance for sexual content involving minors. This is never allowed, in any form. We remove it immediately and report it.
- No private information. Do not share private or identifying details — your own or anyone else's, such as addresses or phone numbers. No doxxing.
- No spam or ads. Do not post junk, repeated messages, scams, or advertising.
- Keep it safe for everyone. Learners here come from many cultures and ages (13+). Write in a way that keeps this a kind, safe place to learn.
What happens if you break the rules
We want warnings to feel human, not scary — so a first small slip might come with a light, monster-themed nudge. But the message is clear:
- We may remove content that breaks these guidelines.
- Repeated problems, or serious ones, can lead to your account being suspended.
- Anything illegal, or anything involving the safety of minors, is acted on immediately.
How to report something
If you see a post that breaks these guidelines:
- Use the Report link at the bottom of any public entry, or
- Email us at [email protected].
We review reports promptly and take action when needed. Thank you for helping keep this community kind.
