About OpenWriting Coach
OpenWriting Coach is a friendly place to get better at English by writing about your real life — not by filling in blanks or memorizing rules.
What OpenWriting Coach is
You write a few lines about your day — what happened, how you felt — and an AI coach gently makes your English sound natural. Just as important, it tells you why each change is better, in one plain sentence, so the fix actually sticks.
The mistakes you make most often turn into little monsters — one for tense, one for articles, one for spelling, and so on. You beat them by writing clean over time. And because everyone here is doing the same thing in the open, you grow together instead of alone.
Who it's for
OpenWriting Coach is for people learning English anywhere in the world — whether you are just starting out or already comfortable and want your writing to sound more natural. If you can write a few sentences about your day, you are ready. There is nothing to prepare and no level you need to reach first.
Common questions
Is it free?
Yes. Writing, getting coached, earning XP, beating monsters, and sharing your entries are all free. A mobile app is on the way at openwriting.ai — join the waitlist and we'll tell you when it's ready.
How does the coach work — and can it be wrong?
When you press "Coach me", the text of your entry is sent to an AI model that suggests corrections, short explanations, and stronger words to keep. It is automated, so it can miss things or get something wrong. Treat it as a helpful guide, not a final judge — when a suggestion looks off, trust yourself and keep writing.
Who can see my writing?
Every entry is private by default — only you can see it, including the coach's report on it. If you choose to make an entry public, that entry and its coach report become visible to anyone, on your profile and in the community feed. You can switch a public entry back to private whenever you like.
What are the monsters?
Your most common mistakes — things like tense, articles, or word choice — become friendly monsters, one per type of slip. Each clean entry weakens them, and three tidy entries in a row defeats a monster for good. It is a light way to see your habits and watch them fade as your writing gets stronger.
How do I report a problem or delete my account?
You can report any public entry with the Report link at the bottom of it, or email us at [email protected]. To delete your account and its data, email that same address and we'll take care of it. Our Community Guidelines explain the rules everyone here follows.
